Purpose of the AVSTS Listserv
The AVSTS listserv exists to support the professional community of veterinary soft tissue surgeons by providing:
A forum for open case discussion and exchange of ideas.
An opportunity to share clinical experiences, insights, and approaches.
Distribution of general announcements, job opportunities, and resources relevant to small animal soft tissue surgery.
A platform to connect colleagues in a professional manner.
Appropriate Uses
Members may use the listserv for:
General announcements that benefit the membership.
Discussion of clinical topics, cases, surgical techniques, management approaches and questions relating to soft tissue surgery and associated veterinary practice.
Sharing employment, training opportunities and appropriate CPD events.
Member Responsibilities
Confidentiality: Do not post client-identifiable or patient-identifiable information. Case discussions should be anonymised.
Respectful Communication: Maintain a professional and collegial tone. Disagreements should remain constructive and courteous.
Relevance: Posts should relate to the mission of AVSTS and the listserv (soft tissue surgery and related professional matters).
No Commercial Promotion: Marketing of products or services is not permitted unless directly relevant and educational in context.

Etiquette & Best Practices
Use clear subject lines to help members navigate discussions.
Keep responses concise and on-topic.
Acknowledge when sharing opinion versus citing established evidence.
Always include your full name, professional credentials, and email address in your signature so members know who is contributing.
Replying to the listserv email address sends your response to the entire group. If you intend a private reply, please email the sender directly.
Thank contributors and share outcomes when possible, to benefit the group's collective learning.
Administration
Membership is limited to professionals in veterinary surgery and related fields.
Moderators reserve the right to remove inappropriate posts or revoke access for repeated violations of these guidelines.
Guidelines may be updated periodically to reflect best practices and evolving needs of the AVSTS community.
Administrative message from members should be directed to admin@avsts.co.uk rather than posted to the listserv.
