The Professor Peter Holt Award for Clinical Research
This an award that the society has set up in honour of the contribution of Professor Peter Holt to the field of soft tissue surgery. The award will be presented at each Spring meeting to the author of the best abstract which was presented the previous year.
Abstracts presented at the AVSTS spring meeting and ECVS scientific meeting will be eligible for consideration for the award.
The subject of the abstract should be reporting CLINICAL research related to Soft Tissue surgery. The committee will consider nominated abstracts for the award on the basis of the scientific content and potential impact of the WRITTEN abstract as it appears in the relevant proceedings. The decision of the committee will be final.
The award consists of stewardship of the “Professor Peter Holt Award” for a year, a certificate, a small copy of the award and a monetary prize.
The Helping Hand Award
In memory of Tony Sarma, an avid supporter and member of AVSTS.
The award cover meeting cost, one night's accommodation, and up to GBP100 towards travel expenses.
The award is open to veterinary students or any veterinary surgeon in practice who is a current member of AVSTS but has not yet embarked on a surgical training programme.
Application is by expression of interest to the AVSTS committee.
